Turning Gloucester Rugby's Kingsholm site into a modern rugby focused campus
The Development Studio were appointed by Gloucester Rugby Limited to undertake an extensive site appraisal to source a location for their new training centre. Gloucester Rugby took an opportunity to repurpose a warehouse located adjacent to their Kingsholm Stadium and to create a new rugby campus in the heart of the city. The re-use of the empty warehouse follows the club’s ambition to bring training back into the heart of Gloucester and to be the leading figure on sustainability with the Rugby premiership. Furthermore, it enabled the club to develop a long term vision for the creation of a rugby campus with Kingsholm Stadium at the centre.
In addition to the Training Centre and Performance Gym, the project included new offices, community facilities, a new stadium 3G playing pitch and hospitality facilities. Our continued role at Kingsholm is to support Gloucester Rugby Limited with their ambitions to improve the facilities for players, staff and supporters.
